A gift with style & substance…
This Father’s Day, give Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select, the small batch, craft bourbon made at America’s oldest and smallest working distillery. The bourbon of choice for bartenders at the world’s most talked about bars, Woodford Reserve is the perfect gift for the contemporary, but understated father who has style and substance.
Heavy on the nose with faint vanilla and tobacco spice, the complexity of Woodford Reserve gives it a silky smooth, well rounded and almost creamy finish. Mix with sugar syrup, bitters and ice cubes, before stirring down and garnishing with orange twist to create an Old Fashioned. Thank Dad this Father’s Day with the cocktail that will never go out of style.
Stockists: Waitrose & Morrisons | RRP £31
For Father’s with a love of history you could try Old Forester. The only bourbon to be bottled before, during and after the Prohibition, Old Forester brings a heritage as rich as its tastes. Still produced by the same founding family, Old Forester is a gift for the family man, who likes his whisky with a history.
The high amount of rye in the bourbon means it is full bodied, with a hint of spice – great for sipping neat or making the traditional Whisky Smash cocktail. Old Forester’s rich but easy drinking flavour profile make it the perfect bourbon for the father who isn’t usually a whisky drinker but who is always keen to try new things.
Stockists: Tesco | RRP £30
